Arthur Richard "Rick" Teaman

December 6, 1946 - September 1, 2018

Arthur Richard “Rick” Teaman, age 71, a lifelong resident of Lorain County passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018. Rick was born on December 6, 1946 in Lorain, Ohio to Arthur and Margaret (nee Smith) Teaman. He was a 1964 graduate of Admiral King High School and continued his education at Miami University. He also completed the Human Resource Program at Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. In 1966, he enlisted with the United States Marine Corps serving his country during the Vietnam War at the rank of LCpl. He was proud to be a US Marine and while serving he was the recipient of both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He began his career at U.S. Steel Lorain Works. After a 17 year career and a promotion to management, he joined the Management Team and later to the Human Resource Management Team at American Steel and Wire. Rick finished his career in Human Resources, specializing in workers compensation at Sherwin Williams, where he retired from in 2009. Rick was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where he served as an usher prior to his failing health. He was a member of the AMVETS Lodge 30 and was a volunteer at the St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry. He enjoyed collecting antiques, knife and military memorabilia collections, and Santa Clauses. He was an avid reader, especially biographies and was a talented artist. Rick is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dolores (nee Morog); daughters, Joy (Don) Szudarek, of Lorain, and Jill (Mike) Toothman, of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Zachary Toothman and Michael Toothman, both of Raleigh, NC, and Carson Szudarek and Adam Szudarek, both of Lorain, OH; and his sister, Sharon Rogal, of Birmingham, OH The Teaman family will receive friends on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 7th at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral center followed by interment at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
