Krell W. Anderson

May 5, 1942 - April 28, 2022

Krell Waldo "Andy" Anderson, age 79, died at Mercy New Life Hospice on Thursday, April 28, 2022, after fighting a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on May 5, 1942, in Cleveland, West Virginia and lived there until joining the Air Force in 1960. He served for nine years stationed in Germany and Duluth, Minnesota where he met his wife. He served his last four years on Okinawa where his wife and baby daughter joined him, and their son was born there. Upon discharge, he completed an electrical apprenticeship at USX/Kobe Steel/ RTI in Lorain and retired in 2000. He then worked as a security guard for 17 years for Securitas, most of the time as supervisor of the security guard staff at Lear Romec/Crane in Elyria. His passions were reading, traveling, and listening to gospel music. He enjoyed his birdfeeders in the winter. He loved watching all kinds of wildlife at the feeders. He loved babies and animals and they both responded to him. For the past 29 years he and his family vacationed together from the time his grandkids were babies to recent years. He belonged to First Lutheran Church in Lorain and served on the Support Committee and as a council member. He is survived by his wife Carolyn (nee Rekola) Anderson, his daughter Kristen (Nick) Donofrio, of Amherst, his three grandchildren, Kalee Donofrio, of Cleveland, Nathan and Nicholas Donofrio, of Columbus, his sister, Norma Myers, of Buckhannon, of West Virginia, and many nieces and nephews. Krell was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Ray Anderson; and his parents, Coy and Neva (nee McMillion) Anderson. The family receive friends on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral &Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. The family will also receive friends on Wednesday, May 4th. from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 1019 W. 5th. Street, Lorain. Pastor Rosey Rivera will officiate. A luncheon will follow the service. There will be no graveside service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, Lorain or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mercy New Life Hospice for their outstanding care. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dovinreberjones.com
