Agnes V Marinik's Obituary
Agnes V. Marinik, age 97, of Lorain passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, in Westlake, Ohio.
She was born on August 25, 1924, in Czechoslovakia to Andrew and Anna (nee Paris) Judak and immigrated to the United States on July 4, 1936, settling in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She married Steve J. Marinik on September 14, 1946 and moved to Lorain.
Agnes was a member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain and a proud former member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain where she was extremely active in the parish ministries. She was also a member of St. Anne’s Lodge, and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association.
She was an accomplished seamstress, an excellent cook and baker, and enjoyed tending to her garden. Her family was most important to her. Agnes had a beautiful heart, was kind, loving, supportive, and selfless.
Agnes is survived by her children, Kenneth (Lisa) Marinik, of Tampa, Florida, Mary Ann (Dieter) Domanovic, of Westlake, Mark (Liz) Marinik, of Sandusky, and Susan Marinik, of Lorain; grandchildren, Therese, Melissa, Jill, Bryce, Nick, and Raquel; 7 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Anthony (Virginia) Judak, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Steve J. Marinik; brothers, Frank, Joseph, and John Judak; and sisters, Emily Mastrangelo, and Sara Meyers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 6, 2022, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, Ohio. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
