Alfred D'Andrea,'s Obituary
Alfred W. D'Andrea, Sr., age 83, of Lorain, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center.
Born March 22, 1929 in Lorain to the late Joseph and Philomena D'Andrea, he graduated from Lorain High School.
Al worked as an electrician and finished his career with US Steel as a maintenance supervisor. He retired in 1983.
He enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors and being with his family during his retirement. Al was a member of the Church of St. Peter, Lorain.
He is survived by his sons, Alfred W. (Janet) D'Andrea Jr., Ronald W. (Karen) D'Andrea and Gary E. (Denise) D'Andrea; his grandchildren, Chad D'Andrea, Morgan Pickerrell, Megan Gonzalez, Lindsey D'Andrea, Joseph D'Andrea, Brian D'Andrea and Amanda D'Andrea; great-grandchildren, Ethan Gonzalez, Addie Gonzalez and Olivia Pickerell; his brother, Chris D'Andrea; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye L. D'Andrea and his sisters, Rita Gregg and Mary Bain.
The D'Andrea family will receive friends on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be said on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Funeral Center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
The family suggests contributions be made in his memory to the Restoration Fund at the Church of St. Peter.
