Alice I Karason's Obituary
Alice I. Karason, 88, of Amherst, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 19, 2026, while under the compassionate care of Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Born September 15, 1937, in Lorain, Alice was the daughter of the late Robert and Irene (nee Smith) Miles. She was a proud graduate of Lorain High School, Class of 1956.
Alice devoted many years to her family as a homemaker, cherishing the opportunity to raise her children and care for her home. Once her children were older, she began working at Kroger Grocery Store, where she enjoyed meeting people and serving her community. In her free time, Alice enjoyed playing bingo, visiting casinos, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
She was a member of the Ohio Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Amherst Eagles Aerie No. 1442, and Amherst VFW Post No. 1662 Auxiliary.
Above all, Alice treasured her family. She will be remembered for her loving heart, devotion to those she cared about, and the many memories she created with family and friends throughout her life.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Anthony Karason; children, Beverly A.(Mike) Kalivoda of Amherst, Linda J. Dalzell of Amherst, James A.(Renee) Karason of Vermilion, and Jeffrey A. (Kelly) Karason of Amherst; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; and her brother, William A. Miles of Middleburg, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Irene Miles; and her brother, Robert Miles.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral center.
