Alice M. Velasquez's Obituary
Alice M. Velasquez born on January 20, 1925, in Battle Creek, Michigan to Frank P. and Sarah O. Murillo Sr. passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Mercy New Life Hospice on Monday, February 7, 2022, at the age of 97.
Alice made her career as a secretary for 30 years at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and served as the secretary at Lighthouse Baptist Church (which is now, Third Baptist Church) for 35 more years in Philadelphia, PA.
She enjoyed reading the Bible and spending time with her family and friends. She truly missed all her friends in Philadelphia when she moved to Ohio to be closer to her family.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Elmcroft and Mercy New Life Hospice for the care that was given to their mother.
Alice is survived by her son, Joseph Velasquez; daughter, Karen Clark; granddaughters, Tanya (Robert ) Garcia, and Michele (Giles) Brown; great grandchildren, Gabriel and Vanessa Garcia, Marissa, Monique, Mariah, and Makayla Brown; and great-great- grandchildren, Zayne and Zaiya Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sarah Murillo Sr.; sister, Clara Gaynor; brother, Frank P. Murillo Jr.; and her son-in-law, David Clark.
Private funeral services were held at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center and Ridge Hill Memorial Park. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dovinreberjones.com
