Allen Earl Tackitt's Obituary
Allen Earl Tackitt, age 88, of Lorain passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at Mercy regional Medical Center, Lorain.
He was born on July 14, 1926 in Wilmington, Delaware to Elver and Mary Katherine (nee McCarthy) Tackitt and graduated from Conrad High School in Delaware in 1944. Upon his high school graduation Allen enlisted with the U.S. Army on September 19, 1944 serving his country in World War II. He was Honorably Discharged at the rank of PFC on July 26, 1946.
Allen made his career as a Police Lieutenant for 20 years in Delaware, retiring in 1970. He belonged to the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed word puzzle, reading and swimming.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacy (Jose) DeJesus; grandchildren, Rosalyn DeJesus, Cody, Connor and Dylan Dun.
He was preceded in death by his wife, , his parents and his siblings.
Private family inurnment will take place at Creveling Cemetery, in Berwick, PA.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, Amherst.
