Alma Capell's Obituary
Alma M. Capell (nee Diedrich), age 92, of Elyria, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 30, 1920 in North Ridgeville, to the late Frank and Louise (nee Thome) Diedrich. She graduated from North Ridgeville High School in 1938.
Alma worked various jobs before owning and operating Capell's Mower from 1968 until retiring in 1976. Following retirement, Alma lived in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida, moving back to Elyria several years ago residing in Abbewood Retirement Community.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Elyria. Alma enjoyed square dancing, bowling, golfing, fishing, shuffle board and was an avid card player.
She is survived by her sons, Charles "Chuck" (Carol) Capell of Vermilion and Dale (Delores) Capell of Elyria; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Marian Kremser of Fr. Myers Beach, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney; a brother, Harold Diedrich; and sisters, Rita Noll and Sr. Mary Wilford SND.
The Capell family will receive friends on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A memorial service will follow the visitation in the funeral center at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Charles T. Diedrick, Pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Elyria, will officiate. Contributions can be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame, 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon, Ohio 44024.
