Andrew Peter Kocan's Obituary
Andrew Peter Kocan, 75, of Lorain passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph.
He was born on April 21, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA to Peter and Mary (nee Mirulla) Kocan and graduated from Lorain High School in 1957.
Andrew enlisted as a Private (E-1) with the U.S. Marine Corps on July 2, 1958 and was honorably discharged on July 22, 1964 as a Cpl (E-4). He made his career working in industrial engineering at various industries.
He is survived by his sons, Dean Kocan, of North Olmsted and Anthony Kocan, of Mentor; grandchildren, Anthony (Jessica) Kocan, , Costas Kocan, Nina Kocan, Liza Kocan and Jack Kocan ; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Kocan and Leila and Logan Alpaugh; sister, Rose Brazina; brother, Ron (Gloria) Kocan; and his friend and companion, Linda Kocan.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Kocan; and his sister, Sylvia Marusin.
The Kocan family will receive friends on Tuesday, May26, 2015 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 27th. at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Military Honors will be conducted by the VFW post 451 and the American Legion Post # 30.
