Andrew J. Striegl's Obituary
Andrew J. Striegl, age 89, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at his home, while under the care of his wife, daughter's and Cleveland Clinic Hospice.
He was born on January 15, 1927, in Cleveland, and has lived in this area his entire life. He graduated from West Tech in 1944, and then attended Akron University. Andrew proudly served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He then went to work for United Airlines for 42 years, before retiring from there in 1987. He is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst.
Andrew will be missed by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary A. (nee Martin), his children; Martin G. (Jan), of Avon Lake, Holly M. (Edward) Neiding, of Vermilion, Anne J. (Andrew) Forgacs, of Greensboro, NC, Paul J. (Sharon), of Cornville, AZ, and Susan T. (Michael) Frost, of Lorain, his grandchildren; Jennifer (Andrew) Breschini, Bridget (Bradley) Mohr, Emily Davidson, Julie Striegl, Mary Beth (Dr. Scott) James, and Sean (Jennifer) Moran, his great grandchildren; Leah Breschini, Sophia James, Andrew Moran, and Oliver Moran, his brother, Philip, of CO, and his sister, Betty Kovach, of Parma Heights.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 20, from 4-8 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, where prayers will be held Wednesday, at 10:00 am. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. Burial will be private.
