Angel Luis Rivera Sr.'s Obituary
Angel Luis Rivera, Sr., 75, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 27, 2025. Born on June 7, 1950 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, to the late Alberto Rivera and Carmen Perez, Angel came to Ohio in 1972 and made Lorain his home.
A proud retiree of Lake Terminal, Angel worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and was known for his work ethic and steady hands. Outside of work, he lived life full-throttle—passionate about drag racing, motorcycles, and classic cars, and was an avid NASCAR fan. In his younger years he was a deadlift competitor, and throughout his life he loved to cook for others. Angel never met a stranger; he enjoyed good conversation and was always ready with a joke.
He is survived by his loving children, Alberto (Danielle) Rivera, Lynda Rivera, Dora Rivera, Angel Rivera, Jr., Jaclyn Rivera, and Kristen Rivera; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Vilma Perez and Wanda Velazquez, and Yolanda Tuguez; and brother Alfredo Camareno. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Jacob Brillon and Mallory Rivera; and siblings, Carlos Perez, Jose Perez, and Iliana Perez.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 3–7 PM, with a service at 7 PM, at Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH 44001. Online condolences and memories may be shared on Angel’s memorial page at dovinreberjones.com.
In honor of Angel’s love for the open road, the family kindly invites guests to bring a motorcycle or classic car to his visitation as a show of love and remembrance.
