Ann S. Hicks' Obituary
Ann S. Hicks (nee Smead), age 77, of Elyria, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.
She was born on June 25, 1938, in Geneva, NY and has lived in Elyria since 1965. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, in Elyria. Ann was employed at Elyria Memorial Hospital, as a ward secretary, from 1968 until she retired from there, in 2001.
She is survived by her children; Colleen A. Masters, of Lorain, Dion T. Hicks and Stephen W. Hicks, both of Elyria, her grandchildren; Douglas Hicks, Jordan Hicks, Stephen Hicks, Anna Hicks Edgell, Ashlee Brennan, and Colin Brennan, her great grandson, Jackson Miller, and her siblings; Flo Bennett, John Smead, Betty DeWitt, and Mary Kay Bolan, all of Geneva, NY.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; William and Elizabeth (nee Gallagher) Smead, and her brothers; Bill and Tom Smead.
The family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Monday, May 9th, from 6 – 8 PM, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, Ohio 44001. A funeral Mass will take place at St. Stephen’s Church and burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, both in Geneva, NY, at a later date.
