Ann Masters' Obituary
Ann Masters, age 81, of Lorain passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph.
She was born on February 11, 1932 in Cork City, Ireland to Dennis and Elizabeth (nee Carroll) Rooney. At the age of 17 she was sponsored by her uncle that was living in New York to come to the United States. A trip she made all by herself.
Ann made her career working for the Lorain City Schools as a cafeteria worker for 27 years. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter, Lorain.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura (Chris) Davidson, of Maryland and Lisa (Carl) Koch, of Elyria; grandchildren, Katy Koch, and Sean, Jenna and Keira Davidson.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Elizabeth Rooney and her brother, Sean Rooney.
The Masters family will receive friends on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where closing prayers will be held on Friday, Jan. 3rd. at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made in memory of Ann to the Church of St. Peter.
