Annie Burian's Obituary
Annie Burian, 76, of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Mercy New Life Hopice. Born on April 3, 1948, in Braunschweig, Germany, she was the beloved daughter of Anton and Theresia (née Schetterer) Iglodan. Annie immigrated to the United States in 1956, embracing her new home and later becoming a proud U.S. citizen in 1988.
A graduate of West Tech High School in Cleveland, Annie was a devoted homemaker who also held various jobs throughout her life, including waitressing, secretarial work, and delivery service. She was a member of the Der Deutscher Jugendchor German Youth Choir Group, where she found joy in music and the German community.
Annie had a deep love for life’s simple pleasures, traveling to Amish country, camping, fishing, and spending time on the water. She was an exceptional cook and baker, always eager to share a meal and conversation with those she loved. Her kind and gentle spirit made her a cherished presence among family and friends.
She is survived by her devoted life partner of 38 years, Larry Joe Pugh; her loving children, John (Candice) Burian, Jacob (Terry) Burian, Joseph Pugh, and Thomas (Nicole) Pugh; and her adored grandchildren, Brandon, Christopher, and Samantha Burian, Katie Truong, Jake Burian, Anissa, Tiffany, Klayton, Douglas, Ethan, Garrett, and Bella. Annie also leaves behind her treasured great-grandchildren, Lucas, Connor, Scarlet, Chase, and Jacob, as well as her dear sisters, Elizabeth Wittman and Christine Roman.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Anton and Theresia Iglodan.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
