Anton Arnt's Obituary
Anton “Tony” Arnt, born January 4, 1951 in Goslar, West Germany died on Friday, February 11, 2011 at his home.
He came to the United States at the age of 7. He attended Cathedral Latin and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1970.
Tony worked as a union member of AFL-CIO Local #707. For 15 years he worked for Cuyahoga County as a union painter. He enjoyed classic cars and motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth A. Follen, of Vermilion; his first spouse, Margaret “Peggy” Moran, of Denver, CO; his children Anton K. Arnt, of Dallas, TX and Tara M. Herron (Lasco) of Fairview Park; his sister, Barbara (Kenny) Friedel and their daughter, Michelle of Westlake; his brother, John, of Fairview Park; his step-father, John Schmidt, of North Royalton; his step-sister, Linda Ambrose (Schmidt); his niece Lisa (Kevin) Hudak and nephew Christopher Ambrose. He is also survived by his brother-in-laws, Timothy (Vicky) Follen, Gregory (Kathleen) Follen, Robert (Patty) Follen, and Brian (Stephanie) Follen; his sister-in-laws, Kathleen (Scott) Huebler and Bonnie (Rich) Schroeder; and his nieces and nephews, Angela (Matt) Gerovac, Kenny (Kitty) Follen, Brian, Caitlin, Kevin, Michael, Ryan, Sarah, Brad (Leah) Huebler, Jade, Lily, Brittany, Cayley, Colleen, Brianna, Scott Schroeder, Christopher (Eileen) Schroeder and Jeffrey (Laurie) Schroeder, and his great-nieces and nephew, Elliot, Emma and Claire, and friend to a selected few – that’s how he rolled.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Barbara (nee Friedrich).
The family invites friends to a memorial gathering on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 4 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 6:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Fr. Joe McNulty of St. Augustine Church in Cleveland will officiate. Immediately following the ceremony, friends are invited to join them for a reception in The Gathering Center of the funeral home.
