Antonia Vega's Obituary
Antonia Vega, age 75, of Elyria, passed away at the Avenue at North Ridgeville Care and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
Antonia was a dedicated woman and truly a role model to everyone who was blessed enough to know her. She was a pioneer and accomplished many things throughout her rewarding life and was proud of all of them. Antonia was naturally a caregiver which helped her to be an excellent nurse’s aide at a Veterans hospital in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Antonia dedicated thirteen years of her life as a foster parent in Cleveland, OH and in Puerto Rico where she cared for many children. She also devoted her heart and time to her faith and God. Some of her proudest accomplishments include; being the founder of the Clamor a Dios which is with the Ministry United in Christ Association in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and she was the founder of the Dominican Republic Council of Alpha and Omega for thirty-five years where she did missionary work.
Antonia is survived by her children, Maria (Randal) Norman and Javier Irizarry; grandchildren, Samuel (Tabitha) Pagan, Gabriel (Amanda) Pagan, and Desiree Irizarry, Natalie Irizarry, Isabella Irizarry; great grandchildren, Isabella Pagan, Elizabeth Pagan, Romeo Pagan, Sofia Pagan, Marianna Pagan; siblings, Maria Vega, Jose Vega, Carmen Vega, Edith Vega, Samuel Vega, Olga Vega, Zoraida Vega and Armando Vega.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Antonia Vega Orta, and siblings, Nelida Vega, Oscar Vega, and Margarita Vega.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 13th, 2023 from 11:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 1:00 pm in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
