Arlie Craigo's Obituary
LORAIN – Arlie Craigo, 89, passed away peacefully on March 21st surrounded by his adoring family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Frances; his mother, Goldie Craigo; his father, Samuel Craigo; his brother, Robert Craigo; his daughter, Rose Mary Stewart; and his granddaughter, Renee Neal.
Arlie was born in Longacre, West Virginia, on November 30, 1927. He moved his family to Lorain in 1955 and worked at U.S. Steel until retirement. He loved collecting and restoring old automobiles and remodeling houses. He was an incredible musician who could pick up almost any instrument with keys or strings and play it. Music played an important role in his life.
Arlie is survived by five children: Judy Harnish (Jim), Arlene Karnik (Jim), Nancy Allison (Jack), Terry Craigo (Jan Ures), and Berneice Branham (Phil Ray). He leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Arlie was lovingly devoted to his family.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 24th, at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral Center, located at 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road in Amherst, for visitation at 11:00 a.m., with the funeral following at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at Elmwood Cemetery located on North Ridge Road in Lorain.
