Arthur Huffman's Obituary
Arthur James Huffman, age 68, of Vermilion, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012 at New Life Residential Hospice Center in Lorain.
He was born on March 19, 1944 in Akron, Ohio to Donald Clarence and Bertha Sophia (nee Buehler) Huffman. He was a graduate of Medina High School. Arthur served in the U.S. Army, enlisting on April 8, 1968 and was honorably discharged on April 7, 1970.
Arthur was the owner and operator of Huffman Tool Supply; he started his company in 1979 and officially retired in 2011.
He was a member of the AMVETS and the VFW. Arthur enjoyed bowling, gun collecting, and fixing all kinds of things and was a hot rod enthusiast.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 13 years, Ruth (nee Shupe); sons, Arnold (Angela) Huffman, of Atlanta, GA and Andrew (Kristee) Huffman, of Charlotte, NC; step-daughters, Crystal Figueroa, of Parma and Samantha Shank, of Vermilion; 9 grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie Huffman, of Seville, Jake Rowe, of Coshocton and John Rowe, of Warsaw; sister, Christee Guilliams, of Coshocton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Clarence and Bertha Sophia Huffman and his sisters, Chloe Kopocs and Susie Hoy.
The Huffman family will receive family and friends on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral center followed by inurnment at Florence Twp. Cemetery. Rev. Charles Keesee, Pastor, of Midway Baptist Church, Elyria.
