Bernadette A. Scaife's Obituary
Bernadette A. Scaife, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake, Ohio. Born on May 6, 1952, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Bernadette was the cherished daughter of George and Josephine (née Bazzarelli) Truscello.
A graduate of Greater Johnstown High School, Class of 1970, Bernadette pursued her passion for cosmetology at The Pennsylvania State Cosmetology School. She excelled in her career, managing several salons in Pennsylvania and Ohio, where she was known for her exceptional skills and warm, welcoming personality.
Bernadette was a proud member of the Elyria Moose Lodge Post 7787, where she enjoyed the camaraderie and community spirit. She had a green thumb and loved spending time in her garden, surrounded by the beauty of her flowers and plants. Her love for animals was evident in her compassionate nature, and she never missed an opportunity to visit local diners, savoring the joy of good food and great company.
Known for her vibrant personality, Bernadette had the remarkable ability to light up any room she entered. She made friends effortlessly and was often described as a social butterfly, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Bernadette is survived by her loving daughter, Heather A. Scaife-Arkley, and son-in-law, David Arkley. She was a devoted grandmother to Mia and J. Arkley, who brought immense joy to her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold E. Scaife Jr. in 2023.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, located at 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Friends and family are invited to leave online condolences at www.dovinreberjones.com.
