One thing I remember about Chuck was that he always had a kind word about whoever he was talking to. He had a way of making you feel good about yourself. I remember when I first got glasses at 16 years old. I thought they looked terrible. He told me how much he liked them and how good they looked. One of the last things he told me was, he asked me how old I was. When I told him I was 67 years old. He said and you still don't need glasses. That's great. Chuck always had a smile on his face and always seemed to be in a good and in a joking mood. Chuck could come across as kinda crass, But I always thought it was all in fun and would give it right back at him. I feel that Chuck was the person that would do anything for you without expecting anything in return. An example of this. I was in the town of Clay and was talking to someone and they mentioned Chuck. They didn't know he was my uncle. Jokingly, I told them he was he wasn't worth much. They got mad and started telling me what a good person he was and don't I dare say anything bad about him. I think Chuck had cut a bunch of firewood for them. I will miss him at family reunions. He was always the first person I saw and always had something to say. He loved talking about the achievements his kids and grandkids. He will be missed by all.
