Betty Arnauld's Obituary
Betty J. St. Arnauld (nee Peart), age 86, of Vermilion, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 19, 1924 in Ironwood, Michigan. Living most of her life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she moved to Vermilion 23 years ago.
Betty worked in quality control and retail sales for many years.
She was a member of the Vermilion Golden Agers and thoroughly enjoyed the outings and activities with the group. While living in Milwaukee she volunteered her time going grocery shopping for senior shut-ins. Locally, she volunteered at Mill Hollow.
Betty enjoyed staying active and fit with regularly exercising; especially doing yoga and taking walks. She was an avid reader and did counted cross stitch, crewel embroidery and tole painting. Her passion was organic vegetable gardening.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Jesse) Hodel, of Vermilion; and Judy (Ray) Sanchez, of St. John’s, Florida; her grandchildren, Jennifer Briggs, Rebecca Hamilton, Aimee Zarate, Liana Pegues and Elizabeth Pegues; her great-grandchildren, Jesse Briggs, Tyler Hamilton, T.J. Hamilton, David Zarate and Nia Zarate; her sister, Sharon Johnson, of Norway, MI and her brother, Ronnie Cook, of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Chipman and Kenneth Peart.
The family will receive friends at a Memorial Gathering and Reception on Saturday, March 19, 2011 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. in the Family Gathering Center of The Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst.
