Betty Sue Bentley's Obituary
Betty Sue Blackburn Bentley, age 67, of Elyria, Ohio passed away at her home after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. Betty was born in Lorain, Ohio on March 12, 1954. She graduated from Elyria High School where she was the Senior Class Poet. Betty was married on December 22, 1973, to William Clayton Bentley.
She worked as a school bus monitor for First Student of Elyria and was also the lead cashier for Loews in Elyria. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved to crochet and do crafts.
Betty is survived her daughter, Jeniffer (Michael) Gantz, of Elyria; grandchildren, Adam (Samantha) Nichols, Izayah Nichols, and Noah Nichols; brothers, Michael (Julie) Blackburn, of Lorain, Bill (Sandy) Blackburn, of Lakewood, and Boyd Blackburn, of Elyria; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William Bentley; mother, Ellen Sweeney Blackburn, father, Lon Edward Blackburn; and her sister, Barbara Snyder Sandt.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 2, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral center with Tim Adkins officiating. Interment will follow at Kendeigh Cemetery, in Amherst Twp.
