Betty J. Pasterak's Obituary
Betty J. Pasterak (nee Teleha), age 71, of Lorain, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at her home with her children by her side following lengthy illness.
A lifelong resident of Lorain, she was born on November 8, 1943 to the late Paul and Mary (nee Yalik) Teleha. She graduated from Clearview High School in 1961 and graduated from Lorain Community College with a degree in nursing.
Betty worked as a nurse at the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain and then at the VA Medical Center in Cleveland, retiring 8 years ago.
She was a member of Church of St. Peter in Lorain, Amherst eagles and Italian American Veteran’s Ladies Auxiliary.
In her free time, she made stained glass, enjoyed golfing, going to casinos, traveling, spending time with her friends, her loving children and grandchildren and her faithful companion dog, Max. She especially enjoyed Sunday dinners with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Katherine A. Pasterak (Dan Hall), of Amherst, and Margaret (Gary) Tuck, of Eldorado Hills, CA; her son, Ralph (Heather), of North Ridgeville; her grandchildren, Jenna, Jordan, Natalie, Rory and Sarah; her great-grandson, Landyn; her brothers, Paul Jr. (Agnes), Andrew (Phyllis), both of Florida, John (Rosemary), of Lorain, Charles (Martha) and Timothy (Mickey) Teleha, both of Amherst; and she had many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann Ludwig and her brothers, Ronald and Paul Teleha.
The family will receive friends at a memorial gathering on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Memorial mass will be on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave. Lorain. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH) Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate.
