Betty J. Yepko's Obituary
Betty J. Yepko, age 92, a lifelong resident of Lorain, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, following a long and fulfilling life. She was born on October 14, 1932, in Lorain, Ohio, to Carl and Mary (nee Clotz) Ignatko. Betty graduated from Lorain High School and went on to have a successful career as a legal secretary, known for her dedication and attention to detail.
Betty was a warm and caring woman, loved by her family and friends for her kind heart and sweet disposition. A devoted Cleveland sports fan, she never missed a game and could always be found cheering for her teams with great enthusiasm. Betty enjoyed traveling, especially spending her winters in Fort Myers, Florida, where she loved the sunshine and the company of fellow snowbirds. In her free time, she also enjoyed playing bingo, a pastime that brought her much joy.
Above all, Betty was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Richard “Rick” Yepko of Avon Lake, and Kirk (Vicki Moulder)Yepko of Jacksonville, Florida; and her beloved granddaughter, Paige Yepko. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Richard “Dick” Yepko, in 2018; her brother, Carl Ignatko; and her sister, Mary Ann Shaw.
Her family and friends will miss her deeply, but they take comfort in knowing that she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 11, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, with Rev. Father Craig Hovanec, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
