Beverly Porter's Obituary
Beverly A. Porter, 52, of Amherst passed away on Sunday October 11, 2009 at Fairview Hospital after a courageous one year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on February 24, 1957 in Marietta, Ohio. She was a 1975 graduate of Williamstown High School in Williamstown, West Virginia.
Beverly was employed by Micron Manufacturing in Lagrange for the past 15 years as a machine operator. She loved nothing more than her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cook -outs at her home and spending time with her family and friends.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Rickie, of 15 years; son, Daniel James Buchanan of Amherst; daughter, Billena (Steve) Porter of Oberlin; step-sons, Rickie (Cathy) Porter of Wellington ,Matthew (Stephanie) Porter of Wellingtonand Shane Burgess of Grafton; step-daughter, Misty Porter of Grafton; 12 grandchildren; parents, James A. and Edith G. Sullivan of Williamstown, West Virginia; Brother Terry McDonald of Beckley, West Virginia; sister, Donna Darlene (Bevin) Seaman of Parkersburg, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ted and Beulah Sullivan, Carl McDonald and Dorothy McDonald Cowdery.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday October 13, 2009 from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center , 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Pastor Lee Higgins, Pastor of Compassionate Ministries, Amherst Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Interment will be in New Russia Twp. Cemetery, Oberlin.
