Bill Hall's Obituary
Bill Hall, age 95, passed away peacefully under the compassionate care of Mercy New Life Hospice surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on April 16, 1931, in Hall, Kentucky, to the late Forest and Sylvania (née Johnson) Hall.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated career with Ford Motor Company, where he worked as a Quality Control Inspector until his retirement in 1991.
Above all else, Bill was a devoted family man. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He found great joy in tending to his garden and keeping his lawn in pristine condition. He was an avid bowler, a loyal Cleveland Guardians fan who faithfully followed the team through the years, and was well known for enjoying a Blatz beer or two while relaxing with family and friends. Bill will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering work ethic, and the deep love he had for those closest to him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Christenna Hall; daughters, Gail (Ritchie Avants) Hall, Paula (Shane) Freeman, and Stacey (Marvin) Jones; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack and Alex Hall; and sisters, Geraldine Burchell and Opal Blanton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Sylvania Hall; and siblings, Magnolia, Mabel, Joe, Inez, and J.D.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
In honor of Bill's lifelong love for the Cleveland Guardians and his easygoing spirit, the family invites everyone to attend the visitation dressed in your Cleveland Guardians attire or simply in the comfortable clothing you would have worn when stopping by to visit Bill at his home. They know he would have appreciated seeing family and friends just as they always were.
