Billy Wayne Elliott's Obituary
Billy Wayne Elliott, age 76, of Amherst, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his home under the care of University Hospitals Hospice.
He was born on May 23, 1940 in Limestone, Alabama and retired in 1997 from Parker-Hannifin after 34 years of service.
Billy enjoyed being in the outdoors observing the wildlife. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed cars and music. Spending time with his grandchildren brought him much joy.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Martha Elizabeth (nee Barnett); children, Jackie Maitland (Keith), of Catawba Island, OH and James Elliott (Kami), of Fairview, WV; grandchildren, Jeremy Martin (Joan), Kristen Maitland-Shank (Stacey), Natalie Maitland, Derek Maitland, Madelyn Kane, Ian Kane, Lindsey Richardson (Casey), Nicholas Elliott (Brittany), Taylor Bragg (Brandon), Kennedy Elliott, Alyssa Elliott, and Tate Elliott; great-grandchildren, Zeke Richardson, Ava Richardson, Laiklyn Bragg, Beau Bragg, Hunter Elliott, Logan Elliott, Cameron Elliott, Kason Bliss, Adison Shank, and Sofi Shank; brothers, Jerry Elliott, of Ashland, Larry Elliott, of Elyria, and Phillip Elliott, of North Ridgeville; and his sister, Diane Eischer; and his beloved dog, Lilly
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Fletcher and Lavonne Elliott; parents, Robert and Louise Elliott.
The Elliott family will receive friends on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 11th. at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Rev. Father Timothy O’Connor, Pastor of St. Joseph Church, Amherst, will officiate. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers that contributions be made in memory of Billy to University Hospitals Hospice, Institution Relations & Development, 11100 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106.
