South Lorain East 35th Street and Charleston Avenue
Carl was 'OUR MAILMAN" for many, many years. My parents, Tuffy and Dub, always talked with him and anxiously waited for the mail to be delivered. It was part of their daily ritual; my mother had water and some treats as they shared stories and jokes.
Next door, The Boss, Vince, gave Carl a very difficult time if he was even a minute late. Vince wanted his social security and other checks delivered promptly, even a day early, and "chewed him out" if he did not deliver.
We were devastated when Carl retired and the neighborhood was never the same. No one wanted a new mailman.
For his smile, warm greetings and friendly personality, we were grateful. He will always be MY MAILMAN!
Sincere sympathy.
May his memory be eternal.
