Carli Jean Kantra's Obituary
Carli Jean Kantra, a young soul full of joy and kindness, touched the lives of many during her time on this Earth. Tragically, she passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the tender age of 14, after a brave battle with Brain Cancer (DIPG) at the Cleveland Clinic. Carli was born on December 4, 2008, in Cleveland, Ohio, to her loving parents, Paul and Julie (Kube) Kantra.
Carli was an eighth-grade student at Learwood Middle School, where her warm heart and friendly demeanor left an indelible mark on her teachers and Carli Jean Kantra, a young soul full of joy and kindness, touched the lives of classmates. She approached life with a sweet and gentle kindness that endeared her to all who knew her. Carli's infectious smile and unwavering positivity brightened even the darkest of days.
Carli had a zest for life and embraced various interests and hobbies. She found immense joy in crafting, expressing her creativity through various artistic endeavors. She had a knack for creating beautiful pieces that reflected her vibrant spirit. Carli also had a passion for movies, cherishing moments spent watching captivating stories unfold on the screen.
Nature held a special place in Carli's heart, and she loved immersing herself in its beauty. Whether kayaking on calm waters, playing lacrosse with friends, or feeling the exhilaration of horseback riding, Carli found solace and happiness in these activities. She treasured family game nights, cherishing the laughter and bonds shared with her loved ones. The beach and the ocean held a particular allure for Carli, who delighted in playing on the shore and swimming in the waves.
Carli's compassion extended beyond humans, as she had a deep love for animals. She cherished every furry companion she encountered and found solace in their company. Squishmallows and Marvel characters held a special place in her heart, further igniting her vibrant imagination.
Carli will forever be remembered by her parents, Paul and Julie Kantra, who provided unwavering love and support throughout her journey. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Macie Kantra, who shared countless cherished moments with her.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Lorain Shipyards Events Center, located at 500 Shipyard Way, Lorain, Ohio. A Celebration of Life service will follow immediately after the visitation, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Angela Freeman-Riley will officiate the service. The arrangements are under the direction of the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center.
The family would like everyone attending to dress casually, and in memory of Carli, wear yellow. No Black, please.
