Carlyn Beal Obituary
Carlyn Ruth (Nee Renkel) Beal, 86, a lifelong Elyria resident, died Sunday March 22, 2026. She was born June 22, 1939 in Elyria. Carlyn had been employed as a bartender at Tap House and St. Lad’s before retiring as a bus monitor for Elyria City Schools. She was a member of St. Paul, Elyria. She enjoyed spending time with her many grand and great-grandchildren, music and dancing. Some of her other favorite things included her pets, golf, bowling and beer on ice. Carlyn will be missed for her warm smile, laughter and love for her family.
Carlyn is survived by her children, Shelley Smith of Silver Springs, FL, Jim (Lu) Beal of Birmingham, Kim Resar of Elyria, Kelley (Scott) Knarr of Wellington, Jeff (Denise-dec) Beal of Elyria and Jill Beal of Lorain; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Tim (Tena) Renkel of Cumming, GA and a sister, Angela (John) Mills of OK.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mike Beal; mother, Ruth Renkel; father, Carl A. Renkel; stepmother, Allie Hudson; brother, Donald C. Renkel, Sr. and a stepsister, Deborah Baldwin.
Friends will be received Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 4:00 pm until the time of a 6:00 pm service at Dicken, Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Pastor Jason Russ officiating.
