Carmen Del Valle's Obituary
Carmen Del Valle, age 82, of Lorain passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain.
She was born on June 9, 1932 in San Salvador, Caguas, Puerto Rico to Doroteo and Eulalia (nee Gonzalez) Arroyo.
Carmen was a homemaker, who was very devoted to caring for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and gardening. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel and a member of the Church’s Legion of Maria, Cursillo, and Las Damas: and served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and as a Director of Pastoral Visits. She was also a volunteer at the Eldorado Senior Center in Lorain.
She is survived by her loving children, Maria (Richard) Sanchez, Jose (Debbie) Del Valle, Jr., Carmen (James) Rademaker, Nora (Del) Young, Milagros (Greg) Greggila, Lucas (Sharon) Del Valle, and Ana (Mark) Seidel; 22 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Laura Nieves, of Cleveland, Ohio.
Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Jose T. Del Valle, in 2014; and her parents.
The Del Valle family will receive friends on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where closing prayers will be held on Tuesday, November 25th. at 8:45 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
The family suggest contributions be made in memory of Carmen to Sacred Heart Chapel or the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
