Carol Ann Davis' Obituary
Carol A. Davis (nee DeVita), age 63, of Lorain, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, at Avon Oaks Nursing Home, following a lengthy battle with dementia.
She was born on May 5, 1953, in Niles, Ohio to Robert and Martha (nee Furchak) DeVita. She graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1971 then worked for General Electric after graduation. She married James Davis on September 17, 1977 and moved to Lorain, where she graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing. Carol was employed by Dr. Ciciarella and Dr. Bukowski for many years. She also worked at Larkmoor Elementary School as the school nurse.
Carol was a member of St. Mary Church, in Lorain, where she served as a Eucharistic minister.
She enjoyed walking, going to the beach, and dancing to Rock and Roll music.
Surviving is her husband of 39 years, James John Davis, her daughter, Amanda (Mike) Darmos, of Lorain, and her three beautiful grandchildren; Gavin, Ava, and Parker Darmos. Also surviving her is her mother, Martha (nee DeVita) Miller, of Warren, and her siblings; Bob (Kathy) DeVita, of McDonald, OH, Kathy (Bruce) White, of Mt. Vernon, OH, and Tim (Betty) DeVita, of Boca Raton, FL, brother-in- law, Bob (Trish) Davis, of Lubbock, TX, and sisters-in- law; Donna (Ted) Partyka and Peggy (Ken) Shawver, both of Lorain.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Robert DeVita and her stepfather, Michael Miller.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 6, from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM, at St. Mary's Church, 309 West 7 th Street, Lorain. The Rev. Fr. Daniel O. Divis, Pastor, will officiate. The Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to either; St. Mary's Church, or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 2173 N. Ridge Road, East #H, Lorain, Ohio 44055.
