Carol Grace DeLeonardis' Obituary
Carol Grace DeLeonardis (nee Maurer), age 78, of Lorain passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home.
She was born on May 30, 1936 in Port Matilda, PA to Clarence V. and Carrie M. (nee Orwick) Maurer and graduated from Lorain High School in 1954 B. Carol worked as a prep-cook for Spumoni’s Restaurant and as an elderly caregiver, in which she found much fulfillment.
She enjoyed playing bingo, needlepoint, bowling, golf and being a recreational pilot. She served as a Cub Scout Leader, Foster Parent and TOPS President.
Carol is survived by her children, Debbie Horton, of Houston, TX, Mike (Cathy) DeLeonardis, of Houston, TX, Pat (Ruth Ann ) DeLeonardis, of Lorain and Marie (Rodney) Wise, of Miamisburg, OH; grandchildren, Shannon and Spenser Horton, Jennifer DeLeonardis, Alyssa Shelton, Ashlee Hoagland, Ashley and Ryan Wise; and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet (John) Mamrak and Barbara Miller, both of Lorain; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin; parents, Clarence and Carrie Maurer; brother, William Maurer; sisters, Sherry Banbury, Marian Diveley and Eleanor Kopronica.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the funeral center during the visitation. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
