Catherine A. Davidson's Obituary
Catherine A. Davidson (nee Cielieska), age 99 of Berlin Township, formerly of Sheffield Township, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015. She was born on November 27, 1915 in Glassport, PA to late John and Mary (nee Glowaty) Cieliesica.
She was a homemaker who loved to bake, cook, crochet, garden and read. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to being a homemaker, she occasionally worked as a fruit packer for Growers Association and Woolworth. During the war she inspected shell casings at United States Steel in Pennsylvania.
Through an invitation from then President Bill Clinton she entered a senior citizens pageant in Joliet, Illinois. She made many trips to Florida spending time with her daughter and family as well as traveling to New Mexico to visit her son and family. In her 80’s she finally got to see Niagara Falls.
Catherine is survived by her son, Duane Davidson; daughter, Arlene (Tom) Spurlock; grandchildren, Duane (Lisa) Davidson, Bruce (Deidre) Gargasz, Danny Spurlock, Gina Davidson, Kim (Zeke) Davidson, John Davidson, Pam (Robert) Thomson, Peggy Spurlock, Missy (Thurman) Klingman, Monique Davidson, Hope (Gary) Horn, Susan (Ronald) Victor, Jenny Spurlock, Sasha Davidson and Aaron Davidson; 24 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Stanley (Alexis) Cielieska, Raymond Cielieska, Walter (Jackie) Cielieska, and her sisters, Teresa (Charles) Kinzie and Helen Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Davidson Sr.; sons, Lawrence Davidson Jr. and Gene Davidson; step-daughter, Adda Remaley; grandson, David Spurlock; brothers, Joseph and John Cielieska; and sisters, Rose Shields, Mildred Heintz, and Pauline Buzek;
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 16th. at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral center followed by interment at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
