Catherine Herchler's Obituary
Catherine A. Herchler (nee Mullen), age 98, of Amherst, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Amherst Manor following a short illness.
She was born on June 4, 1914 in Lorain to the late Henry and Rose (nee Hollie) Mullen.
Catherine was a graduate of Lorain High School. In 1950, she moved to Amherst and resided there since.
She was an active member of Old Stone United Methodist Church, Amherst. For many years, she was also actively involved with Senior Citizens of Amherst (SCOA) group.
Catherine enjoyed bowling and golfing, and spent many afternoons' playing cards. Having a passion for doing ceramics, she was a member of the Mud Hens ceramic group.
She is survived by her sister-in-laws, Neva Herchler, of Amherst, Barbara Herchler, of Vermilion, Dorothy Mullen, of Texas and Dorothy Stump, of Arizona, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Edward "Bud", in 2007; her brothers, Thomas "Sonny" Mullen and John "Jack" Mullen and her sister, Gladys Barbor.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 25th from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:00 noon in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Pastor Dan Reinke will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
