Catherine Wilber's Obituary
Catherine Wilber (nee Haramic), born to John and Annie Haramic May 12, 1938, known to friends and family as either Cathy or Kate, passed in the early morning hours of December 7th. with family present. Cathy was born in in Pittsburgh and was always a Pittsburgher at heart no matter where she lived. She graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Art and made her way to Cleveland where she took a job as a graphic artist with Sears and later American Greetings before joining Robert (Bob) Lang in both marriage and as a partner in Lang Advertising which she continued to operate after Bob passed away at an early age. Through business, Cathy met Harry Wilber whom she proclaimed was the “love of her life” and was happily married to for more than 20 years before Harry passed away in 2001. Cathy stayed busy after she retired from advertising by volunteering as a Board Member of the Oberlin Early Childhood Center, The Firelands Association of the Visual Arts (FAVA) and Forte Nightly Book Club. She was a person of many interests and extremely well read and was able to converse on almost any topic including politics, arts, and science. To know Cathy was to love her. There will be no formal showing but a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. She is survived by her stepsons, Doug (Lorie) Wilber, of Oberlin, and Kent (Carol) Wilber, of Kankakee, Illinois; grandchildren, Sean Wilber, Caitlyn Gordon, and Chase Wilber; and great-granddaughter, Charley Gordon.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Lang, and Harry Wilber; and her parents, John and Annie Haramic.
