Charles L. Nagy's Obituary
Elyria – Charles L. Nagy, 81, died Saturday, May 20, 2017 while being cared for in his daughters Amherst home following a brief illness. Born and raised in Elyria he was a lifelong resident.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Genevieve (Robinson) Nagy and sister Jeanette DeAngelis. Survivors include his sister Sandra Hensley; his three daughters, Beth Morales, Sharon Fiege’, and Carla Hosier; his grandchildren, Ben (Julie)Johnson, Esiah and Deme Morales, Kevin Fiege’, Kayla, Conner, and Cameron Hosier; and his daughter’s husbands, Aquilino Morales and Scott Hosier.
In his early years, he served in the Armory with the U.S. Army in Fort Knox for two years. He also was a Union Auto Worker with Chevy for 35 years, and built houses as a second job for many years.
Chuck honed his skills in carpentry building & remodeling houses, in modeling remote controlled airplanes, and was a skilled mechanic. He was the handiest handy man, a true jack-of-all-trades. He’s helped his sisters’ and daughters’ countless times with home projects, car problems, and raising their children. If you knew Chuck, you’d know he was as selfless as they come, providing them with endless amounts of knowledge; most of which he’d gained from reading every instruction manual he could get his hands on.
Being as selfless as he was, he taught his family what it was like to be readily available. Whenever they needed him he would come to their rescue. More importantly he taught them how to be self-sufficient and the importance of a strong work ethic. Chuck was able to witness his daughters grow and marry and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up, and become young adults. He was extremely proud of all of them.
A wake will be held at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center located at 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd in Amherst, OH on Friday May 26th from 5-7pm, followed with a brief service and private burial on Saturday May 27th at 10am.
