Having grown up across the street in Vermilion, Chuck was one of my very best friends. I fondly remember trips to the Ponds to hunt salamanders and snakes, playing Home Run Derby in the empty lot next door and camping out on those warm August nights... The tides of life and circumstance never allowed us to reconnect after high school, but he will remain a very important part of my early life. It sounds as though he was as great a man as he was a kid! My warmest thoughts go out to his Mom, Ruth, and his siblings, B.J., Anita and Rose as well as the others who knew him and loved him in later years.

I always respected Chuck for being such a dedicated, kind, and helpful pharmacist when I interned with Drug Mart in the early 1990's. He was the type of pharmacist I wanted to be. Treat others kindly regardless how they treated me. I learned alot and he will be missed by many. I am so sorry for your loss and we will keep your family in our prayers.

my heart shattered the day you left, my eyes are still wet. I can hear u now telling me it will be alright, but somehow Unk i just don't think it can be! My heart goes out to Jon, Megan and the rest of Chucks' family. I will always remember Chuck for his dry humor, quiet speech and willing helpfulness. He was a great boss and will truly be missed. God be with you all during this time of sorrow and dwell in the good memories.

I so fondly remember "Chuckles" as many of us at DDM called him as the kindest and most helpful pharmacist. Chuck was a good man who always wanted to help his customers and treated all with respect. The world has lost a very good man, pharmacist, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by many. My condolences to all those whose lives will never be the same without him.

Chuck was such a wonderful mentor and role model for our son Tristan since he was in high school & they started working together at Rite Aid Pharmacy. They had an instant connection and shared their love of Ohio Northern as they talked of college experiences. When Tristan had brain surgery at Cleveland Clinic a couple years ago, Chuck was there for him - sitting by his bedside during a very hard recovery and helping him walk the hallways as he started to recover, encouraging him and showing compassion even though he was sick himself. I can't thank God enough for Chuck and for the way he influenced our son's life in such a positive way. We will always remember that familiar smile on his face as he went about his day! Tristan has been very saddened by his passing. I only hope our son will follow in Chuck's footsteps and reach out to others through places like the Free Clinic and friendly patient care as they enter the pharmacy.
