Charlotte A. Eiden's Obituary
Charlotte A. Eiden (née Stock), age 97, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Mercy New Life Hospice Center. Born on March 5, 1928, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to Lawrence and Mildred (née Tolin) Stock, Charlotte moved to Lorain, Ohio, at the age of 19, working at Thew-Shovel and Bell Telephone Co., where she met John Eiden and raised her girls.
A 1945 graduate of Norwin High School, Charlotte built a career marked by dedication and service. She worked for 25 years as an office manager for the Erie Shores Girl Scout Council and was honored with the organization’s highest recognition, the “Thanks Badge,” in acknowledgment of her exceptional service.
Charlotte was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst and found joy in giving back to her community. She volunteered her time at the Lorain Palace Theatre and the Lorain YMCA and was also a proud member of the Moose Club.
A spirited traveler, Charlotte especially loved trips out west and cherished her visits to Graceland, reflecting her lifelong admiration for Elvis Presley. Her hobbies included ceramics, gardening, and dancing passion she developed during her high school years. She was very active in all of her daughters endevours. But above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved family.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Sandy Prosak of Columbus, Debbie Eiden of Centerburg and Bonnie (Scott) Pember of Amherst; grandchildren, A.J. (Sarah) Prosak, Doug Prosak, Samantha (Matt) Dorsey, Austyn (Alexis) Pember, Taylor (John) Pember. Cole Pember, and Bryn (Will) Telzerow; and nine cherished great-grandchildren.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, John Eiden; her parents; and her siblings, Lawrence Stock and Mary Mazur who passed on consecutive days.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Charlotte on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Ziggy’s Pub and Restaurant, 193 Park Ave., Amherst, Ohio. Graveside following at Calvary Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
