Chris A. Woods' Obituary
Chris A. Woods “Homey”, age 54, of Lorain passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness.
He was born on February 5, 1960 in Lorain, Ohio to Herbert and Diane (nee Baker) Woods and graduated from Lorain High School in 1979.
Chris was employed by Ford Motor Company in the Stock Department for 25 years. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain. Chris enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood carving and attending classic car shows throughout the area. He loved his dogs, Abbey and Brody. Chris loved life and his family and friends; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Valerie (nee Hellinger); mother, Diane Woods, of Lorain; brother, Mark (Micky) Woods, of Lorain; and his sister, Debra Woods, of Lorain.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Herbert; and his father and mother-in-law, Alvin and Rose Hellinger.
The Woods family will receive friends on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where closing prayers will be held on Monday, August 18th. at 9:15 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Richard Hudak, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
