Christine Rivera's Obituary
Christine M. “Tina" Rivera, (nee Prosowski), 42, of Lorain, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at New Life Hospice Residential Center following a short illness.
Born June 14, 1967 in Parma, she lived in Brooklyn, Ohio before coming to Lorain in 1990. She was a 1985 graduate of Brooklyn High School and attended Cuyahoga County Community College. Tina was employed for 18 years at Invacare Corporation, Elyria in customer service. Prior to that, she worked for Production Service in Parma in customer service.
Tina was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, Lorain, and enjoyed crafts and collecting baskets.
Surviving is her husband of 18 years, Jose “Tony"; daughters, Larissa and Sherrie both at home; her parents, Robert Prosowski Sr. and Barbara (nee Randar) of Brooklyn; brothers, Robert Jr., and Andrew both of Brooklyn; and a sister, Joyce Teel of North Royalton.
She was preceded in death by her aunt, Mary “Minnie" Varshal.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm in the Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be Saturday at 8:45 am in the funeral center followed by mass at 9:30 am at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain. Fr. Thomas Smith, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
