Clark E. Lobdell's Obituary
Clark E. Lobdell, age73, of Sheffield Township, passed away after a long battle with cancer, on Friday, March 30, 2018, at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.
He was born on January 12, 1945 in Tacoma Park, Maryland. Clark proudly served his country while enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1965 until being honorably discharged in 1969. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, where he also worked and helped in the parish garden for as long as he was able to. Clark also donated his time to preparing food every third Thursday of the month for the food shelter. He worked in the Information Technologies Departments for several companies.
Clark and his wife always looked forward to enjoying the warm weather at their camper in West Salem. He treasured the times when he babysat for his grandchildren and until he no longer was able to, he enjoyed getting out for a good round of golf.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Nancy J. (nee Kusik), step-son, Mark (Cindy) Weersing, son, Christopher (Carrie) Lobdell, daughter, Meredith (Dan) Schleichardt, his 8 grandchildren; Aaron and Meagan Weersing, Isabell and Allison Lobdell, Stephanie and Jonathan Hoover, and Noah and Simon Schleichardt. He is also survived by his sisters; Carol Butchok and Carol Klimas.
Clark was preceded in death by his parents; Richard and Freda (nee Washburn) Lobdell.
The family will receive friends for his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 4, at 10:00am, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035. The Rev. Fr. Donald Dunson, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Garfield Cemetery, Sheffield Village, with full military honors.
