Clyde Vernon Hoover's Obituary
Clyde Vernon Hoover, age 75, of Wellington, passed away peacefully after a long illness and with his family by his side, on December 6, 2017, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.
He was born on December 2, 1942 in Garrett, KY, moving to LaGrange in 1959. For the past 13 years he has resided in Wellington.
Clyde had many occupations through his life. Most recent, he was a truck driver for P.G.T. for the past 10 years, just retiring in 2015. Prior to that, he was a police officer for Grafton, then Sheffield Village, and then was an Auxiliary officer for the Lorain County Sherriff’s Department. After serving as an officer of the law, Clyde owned and operated Bonnie & Clyde’s Tavern. He was also a truck driver for both; R&J Trucking Co. and L&M Trucking Co.
He was a member of; Elyria’s and Wellington’s, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Moose Lodges and Elyria VFW. Clyde was a proud Grandmaster in Karate. He enjoyed shooting pool and being on various pool leagues throughout Lorain County, including the Ohio Vending team. He was also known for playing in his band, “Borderline.” He enjoyed running his DJ and Karaoke Business, H&H DJ and Karaoke, with his brother Bob and enjoyed playing guitar and singing for residents at local nursing homes. Along with fishing, Clyde really enjoyed drag racing in his younger years. He was quite proud of his ’68 Roadrunner especially.
He is survived by his daughters; Carolyn Hoover of Vermilion, Sherry Hoover of Amherst, and Angela (Mike) Pasadyn of Vermilion, his 3 grandchildren; Bryan LaScola, David Applebee, and Lacey Pasadyn, his great grandson, Kaden LaScola, his significant other of 13 years, Jeana Goss, of Wellington, brother, Bob Hoover, of Grafton, his sister, Belinda (Joe) Anney, of LaGrange, as well as all of his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Clyde E. and Barbara E. (nee Turpin) Hoover, Sister-In-Law, Janet Hoover.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 12, from 4:00 pm until the time of his memorial service at 7:00 pm, at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
