Concetta "Connie" Adamcek's Obituary
Concetta S. “Connie” Adamcek (nee Curcillo), age 89, of Lorain passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Rae Ann Suburban Nursing Home in Westlake under the care of Hospice of the Western Reserve.
She was born on May 15, 1926 in Lorain, Ohio to Joseph and Anna Curcillo and graduated from Lorain High School Class of 1946 B.
Connie was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, working bingo and cooking and baking in the kitchen for the church’s many events.
Over the course of her life, Connie worked at Lorain Towel, Kroger’s and as an elevator operator. She also worked for the Board of Elections for 25 years as a Poll Worker.
She loved to read and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was an extremely devoted mother, grandmother, and sister.
Connie is survived by her children, Ann (James) More, Mary (Alan) Tatro Sr., and James (Mary) Adamcek; grandchildren, Isadora Adamcek, Alison Tatro, and Alan, Jr. (AJ) Tatro; and her sisters, Josephine (Glenn) Morris and Santa Skidmore; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isadore Adamcek, in 1969; her parents, Joseph and Anna Curcillo; sisters, Marie Wacker, Kathy Kiger, Nancy Roll and Theresa Kroll; and her brother, Greg Curcillo.
The Adamcek family will receive friends on Saturday, February 20th from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Rd., Elyria. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the visitation at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Fr. Donald Dunson, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
