Cynthia Anne Tipton's Obituary
Cynthia Anne Tipton, 74, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. She was born on July 29, 1951, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, to Lawrence and Jeanne (nee Meade) Seidel.
A 1969 graduate of Mentor High School, Cynthia had a lifelong love of education. She went on to earn a degree in Classical Piano from Bowling Green State University, a degree in Engineering from the University of Toledo, and later a Business degree from Lake County Community College.
Cynthia dedicated over 30 years of her career to Nordson as an engineer, retiring in 2009. Prior to her time at Nordson, she worked with DeVilbiss. She was an active member of the Skywarn Weather Spotters, Zoological Society, Wildlife Conservatory, and the Nordson Management Professional Club. A devoted advocate for nature and wildlife, she even certified part of her backyard as conservation land.
Her passions were many and reflected her adventurous spirit—reading thousands of books (often finishing a novel in a single day), kayaking, white water rafting, mountain climbing, cross-country skiing, and fishing. She was also a loyal Cleveland Browns fan. Above all, her greatest joy came from her grandchildren, cheering on her grandsons at baseball and football games and supporting her granddaughter in their theater productions.
Cynthia is survived by her daughter, Chelsea (William) Casey; grandchildren, Ashley (Evan Thomson) Panfil, Holden Panfil, Elijah Dubbert, and Aleigha Dubbert; sister, Barbara Larsen; and brother, Michael Seidel; and her friend and companion of 44 years, Craig Stepanek. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Jeanne Seidel, and brothers, Steven and Gregory Seidel.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Sharing of Memories will take place at 3:00 in the funeral center.
