Dana J Mislinski's Obituary
Dana J. Mislinski, 48, of Amherst, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 5, 2013.
Born June 29, 1965 in Lorain, Dana lived in Sheffield Village until moving to Amherst in 1996.
He graduated from Brookside High School in 1983 then served 4 years in the US Air Force receiving the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Outstanding Unit Award with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal and the Overseas Ribbon-Long Term.
Dana worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for the past 19 years. Prior to this, he worked as a security guard for the Cleveland Museum of Art.
He was a member of House of Praise International Church, Lorain, and enjoyed video games, golfing, fishing, radio podcasts and Christian metal music. He was especially fond of his dog, Teddy.
Surviving is his loving wife of 22 years, Erma (nee Aponte); his children, Andrew J. and Elena J. both of Amherst; sisters, Cindi Torres of Lorain, Chrysta Vanuch of Amherst, Camille Romero of Amherst and Candise Canterbury of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Betty (nee Blair) Mislinski; and a brother, Desmond Mislinski.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-8 pm in the House of Praise International Church, 4321 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 am. Rev. Gilbert Silva, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, Twp. The Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
