Daniel Mark Elliott's Obituary
Daniel Mark Elliott, 56, of Lorain passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Specialty Hospital of Lorain. He was born on February 19, 1966 in Vermilion, Ohio to Frank and Angelina (nee Magdaleno) Elliott.
He was a 1984 graduate of Vermilion High School where he excelled in Football and received the honor of being named All State in Ohio as a tackle.
Daniel enlisted with the United States Navy serving on the USS Hunley and the USS Vogue as a Gunner’s mate Petty officer second class. He was honorably discharged after 8 years of service.
He retired from Symrise Inc. in Elyria on May 3, 2021 after 20 years of service.
Daniel was quite proud of the fact that in the late 80’s he wrestled a 7 ½ foot ,700 pound plus brown bear named” Caesar”. Legend has it that Danny gave Caesar one of his most challenging wrestling matches. After his discharge from the US Navy, Danny continued his love of football by joining the coaching staff of Vermilion High School. He also coached both of his daughter’s softball teams. He loved fishing, watching sports, especially the Cleveland Browns, and doing puzzles. He loved his dogs Coco and Ellie.
He is survived by his daughters, Shelly (Patrick) Lukas, and Danielle Elliott; brothers, Floyd (Lisa) Elliott II, Brian (Melissa) Elliott, and Charles (Stephanie) Elliott; sisters, Debbie (Al) Geason, Cheryl (Tim) Isenberg, Monica (Jeff) Wawczak, and Polly (Brian) Ferry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Angelina Elliott; and his brother, Matthew Elliott.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
