Daniel Kosanovich's Obituary
Daniel Kosanovich, age 95, of Lorain, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015 at New Life Hospice Residential Center.
Born on May 10, 1920 in Lorain, Daniel graduated from Lorain High School in 1938.
He served in the US Navy during World War II for 4 years, earning numerous medals including Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic Pacific Campaign with 1 Silver Star, American Campaign and World War II Victory Medal.
For over 35 years, Daniel worked as a sales manager at Hytech Industries traveling all over the world for the company.
He was a member of St. Mark’s Serbian Orthodox Church in Sheffield Village, where he had served as a trustee. Daniel was also a member of Amvets Post 47, VFW Post 451 and American Legion in Lorain.
In his free time, Daniel enjoyed playing golf and bowling.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara (nee Slocum); his nephew, Nick Kosanovich, of Westerville; and several more nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Katherine (nee Suder) Kosanovich; his brother, Rudolph and his sister, Mildred Danielson.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 14, 2015 from 3-5 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, where Pomen service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. The family will also receive friends on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Serbian Orthodox Church, 1434 Lake Breeze Road, Sheffield Village. Burial will follow in St. Mark Cemetery.
