Daniel D. Truxell's Obituary
Daniel D. Truxell, age 68 a lifelong resident of Lorain passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Mercy New Life Residential Hospice Center.
He was born on June 29, 1949 in Lorain to Daniel and Margaret (nee Ruth) Truxell. He attended Lorain High School his first 2 years of high school and graduated from Lorain Admiral King in 1967. He furthered his education at DeVry University earning a Bachelor Degree in Electronics.
Daniel proudly served his country with the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. He made his career as a Union Electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 129, in Lorain. He retired in 2005.
He was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Lorain, and the Sandusky and Cleveland Fagowee Ski Clubs. He remained active in his union meetings even after his retirement and looked forward to his weekly breakfast dates with his Union Brothers. Staying fit and working out at Bally’s fitness center in Westlake was not only about the workout but a time for he and his buddies to socialize and talk sports. His happiest times involved watching his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes with his family and friends.
Daniel is survived by his son, Dan Truxell, of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Margaret; and his sister, Mary Ellen Truxell.
The family will receive on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral &Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. The family encourages all that attend to please dress in OSU casual attire. OH…..IO. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July15th. at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Jimmy Madsen will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
