Daniel M. Wheeler's Obituary
Daniel M. Wheeler, age 32, of Strongsville and formerly of Vermilion, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born on June 12, 1983 in Lorain, Daniel graduated from Firelands High School in 2002. He attended Kent State University.
Through the years, Daniel worked as a bartender at several different restaurants. Most recently he worked at Houlihan’s in Strongsville and previously at different restaurants in downtown Cleveland and Marblehead.
He was a former member of St. Mary Church in Vermilion.
Daniel thoroughly enjoyed cooking and entertaining and playing cards. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed watching all sports. He also liked to closely follow the Stock Market.
He is survived by his father, Bruce; his brother, Joseph; his sister, Lauren (David) Jackson; his nephew Cody and his niece Kyla; his maternal grandparents, Dr. William and Mary Doran; his paternal grandfather, Robert Wheeler; and his longtime girlfriend, Ashley Dietz.
He was preceded in death by his mother Jean (nee Doran) and his paternal grandmother, Rebecca Wheeler.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 4th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 31 Exchange St., Vermilion. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH) Rev. Fr. Ron Brickner, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be held later that day at St. Joseph Cemetery in Conneaut, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory to the Jean Doran Wheeler Scholarship Fund, c/o any Key Bank branch.
